Our Commitment to the Environment
Sustainable development is the balance of economic growth, environmental protection, and social equity. Because of the limits of the earth’s natural systems, this balance is essential to securing life in the long term. When this balance is achieved, we will have reached sustainability.
Everyone must do their part. In our office and on our tours, we encourage our staff to make all decisions with sustainability in mind. In the Spring of 2008, an Environmental Action Committee was formed at our Deerfield office to work on environmentally-focused office-based initiatives. Some of these include:
- An aggressive recycling program
- Use of 100% recycled office paper for all printed materials (parent flyers, invoices, itineraries)
- Adherence to power reduction wherever possible (lighting, computers/monitors, printers, copiers)
Educational Tours fully supports and participates in the sustainability efforts of our parent company, TUI Travel PLC which
