Why does a parent need to set up an account for a child under the age of 14? In keeping with the laws of the Children's Online Protection Act we ask that a parent/guardian hold the account for all passengers under the age of 14.  This way we know that the parent/guardian is aware of all activities taking place on the child's account.  For detailed information on ET and the Children's Online Protection Act please see our Privacy Policy. What kind of identification is needed to fly? For passengers over the age of 18, please visit the Transportation Security Administration website for complete details.   For passengers under the age of 18, identification is not required to fly. Top of Page

How many bags can be brought on tour? We suggest that each passenger bring a back pack and a carry-on suitcase.  In the event that a passenger is not able to fit the items they need for the tour in these pieces, we suggest bringing one checked bag and a back pack to carry on the plane with them.  Checked bags will be subject to the individual airline fees for checked baggage. Top of Page

What are the carry-on or checked baggage restrictions for flying? For the most up-to-date information on what can be packed in your carry-on or checked bag, please visit the Transportation Security Administration website.  Information on the sizes and quanty of carry-on or checked bags can be found on your booked airlines website. Top of Page

Are checked baggage fees included in the cost of the tour? No, baggage fees are not included in the cost of your tour.  We do this knowing that most passengers will travel with a carry-on, and therefore the charge is unnecessary. Should a passenger need to check a bag, this will need to be paid at the airport directly to the airline.  Fees vary from airline to airline; typically the charge is $15-20 for the first bag. Please check your booked airline’s website for complete details. Top of Page

What kind of sightseeing buses do you use? ET uses reputable local luxury motor coaches that are climate controlled. Each is equipped with a DVD player and monitors and has on-board washroom facilities, with the exception of groups that have booked a “mini-coach”.  Our itineraries are written to adhere to the motor coach driver laws laid out by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), part of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Top of Page

Do you have a suggested packing list? Yes, this packing list is posted on your Tour Center; log in to see it and other important documents for your tour. Top of Page

What is included in my tour cost? Every Educational Tours program is customized and therefore will have a different set of inclusions. Your parent letter will lay out the number of meals, hotel nights and mode of transportation. You can also refer to the “Destinations” section of the website for some sample itineraries of the destinations we offer. Top of Page

What kind of meals do you provide? If meals are included in your tour, most commonly they will include either a continental or full buffet breakfast at the hotel (depending on the package chosen by the tour organizer).  At lunch, actual cash will be given to the students, and the group will be brought to an area where there are numerous food options (such as a food court).  Cash allows the students the greatest amount of flexibility and options for choice.   For dinner, our groups eat in sit-down theme, buffet or family-style restaurants. Top of Page

Will there be ET Staff working with the group? On-site, each group will be greeted by a Tour Director; this highly trained professional will handle the “business” side of your tour, taking care of your hotel arrangements, coordination of meals, security and working on any issues that arise on the road.   Our Tour Director is available to the group 24 hours a day and stays with the group on-site at the hotel.  On every tour you will also have a guide or driver/guide; this local professional will guide you to your various sites and dispense a wealth of relevant, interesting information.
