Benefits for Parents
ET has served parents for four decades, and safety and security have always been our paramount concern. Find out more about our philosophy and service to families.
  • SAFETY AND SECURITY - Planning for the safety of each tour participant is the most important component in every tour we build. It starts in the preparation of your trip details. ET uses full-service hotel properties, major transportation vendors and experienced, highly-trained personnel. Each Group Leader is given an emergency management guide, created exclusively for ET clients. On-site staff, constant communication and emergency cards for each participant ensure that we plan for a safe experience for your child. For more on safety and security on the trip, click here.
  • ACCREDITATION - Educational Tours is an Accredited Student Travel Provider through SYTA, the Student and Youth Travel Association. There is a difference between SYTA membership and SYTA Accreditation. Our association with SYTA goes beyond membership. To become an Accredited Travel Provider Educational Tours has passed licensing requirements, met stringent insurance and bonding levels, maintains a current emergency management plan including a 24-hour emergency line, and demonstrates financial stability. Since 1969, ET has been a leader in the student tour industry as recognized by SYTA. You may learn more about this organization by visiting the SYTA website.
  • GENERAL TRIP DETAILS - There are several pieces of general trip information you will receive from ET or your Group Leader. They are:
  1. Registration Letter: This document gives you the pertinent information you need including tour dates, cost, payment and registration information and cancellation details.
  2. Final Information Letter: Information sheet sent to parents (or distributed by the Group Leader) two weeks before the trip with final tour information including transportation, pick-up/drop-off and hotel details.
  3. Each participant is covered by our trip insurance coverage. Check your registration letter for details.
  4. Every member of the group receives an ET lanyard with emergency card. The information on the card instructs the participant on what to do if they become separated from the group.
  • REGISTRATION - Participants are encouraged to use our easy on-line registration process. You will need your tour's booking code supplied by your Group Leader. You can also enroll using a registration form, which is included in the registration packet from your Group Leader. Please complete the form, sign it, and send it to ET with your deposit. In some cases, the registration and payments will go directly to the school. Your registration packet will detail where your payments should be sent. All applications are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
  • REFUND GUARANTEE PROTECTION - Refund Guarantee Protection (RGP) provides the opportunity to cancel the tour at any time, for any reason, and receive a full refund less the cost of the protection. Benefits for Students
"The journey lasts a few days, but the experience lasts a lifetime."

Put books down and the iPod away. You are going to want to pay attention as you embark on a trip that will change the way you see the world. Whether you’re a history buff, budding young artist or mad scientist, an unforgettable adventure awaits you.  The benefits of travel while in school are endless, and ET will help prepare you for this amazing experience.

See what your teacher has in store for you Login to your group's Tour Center, one of the ET's benefits outside of the tour.
  • WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR SCHOOL TRIP? - ET plans all of the sites and venues for your trip, so the only extra money you will need is for snacks and souvenirs. (Because we customize every trip, you should check with your Group Leader about the details of your tour program). You can expect a fast-paced, interactive journey where you will experience a virtual “living classroom,” where what you have been taught in the classroom comes to life! You will want to take a lot of pictures to remember this "once-in-a-lifetime" experience.
  • WHAT TO BRING? - A packing list is available for you on your schools Tour Center, log in to view it.  Most students will bring two pieces of luggage for overnight trips, a carry-on (backpack) and a standard piece of luggage. Keep any valuable items with you at all times. Most students use their backpacks daily and keep them on the bus. Check with your Group Leader if you are wondering about bringing certain items on your tour.  Please label all luggage clothing items, electronic portable devices (if allowed), and any personal items you will take on the trip.
  • WHAT'S THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE ON OUR TOUR? - Links to the weather forcasts can be found in the Destinations Section of our website for your convenience. Click on your destination from our list, and then the Useful Links within that page. Dress comfortably, following any school or group guidelines you are given. You will be walking quite a bit, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
  • WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE? - We do not want you to miss a thing while on tour! A typical day for an ET overnight trip is a wakeup at 6:00 am, breakfast at 7:00 am and then sightseeing all morning. We will stop for lunch at a food court (so you have lots of choice for lunch) and then spend the afternoon at the sites and venues scheduled on your itinerary. After a buffet or cafeteria style-dinner (all menus are selected to suit the needs of a student group), you will have an evening activity or sightseeing before heading to the hotel. Dedicated security is on the floor beginning at 10:30 pm to assist you if there are any issues overnight.
